Sometimes writing a Gertrude”s Diary happens almost spontaneously. One minute I”m looking at a blank screen and the next thing there”s a tidy little story and I can forget about it foranother week or so.

This show’s musical guests are Super Best Friends being Matthew, Adam and John. There’s five tracks recorded in the pod, an informative talk about Hepatitus C, a discussion about Australia’s meddling in the South Pacific (informed by Nik the Pig who is currently on furlough from a stint in the Solomon Islands) and a lot of Tim Tam munching, beer drinking, cigarette smoking and laughing.
EA does sometimes think she will drop dead through lack of sleep. Criminal is the choice of music piping through the radio wires early morning. JJJ is the usual. The Magic Bullet food chopper has been telemarketing for a while now and EA wouldn’t mind some of that dip right now. Stomach exercises at 4am no thanks and there’s no mastercard to order the Proactvity Skin Rescue Range for an acne/skin free existence – laced with acid more likely. Think seaweed.
Remember last year, when we flew to Perth on a free holiday? And we stayed on the 23rd floor of the Hyatt, with views of the Swan River?

This show’s musical guests are Ben Drysdale, Dan Kempers and Damien Slingsby of Smitten who play six cracking songs and join in the general conversation about such topics as David Williamson plays, the perils of Tuesday morning after a Monday night at the Phoenix and some really bad banalities.
Gale force winds today. Driving through Ballalaba (it”s near here) on the way home from the coast, we avoided the worst of it. Following the lee side of the ridges we were mostly protected from the ferocious north-westerlies. It”s very useful to know a few back roads. And spring is a wonderful time to be in the country. Flowering plants everywhere, strange wattles in exotic shades, perfumed paths through the bush. Breathe it in, boys and girls. Unless you”re asthmatic, in which case run away as quickly as you can before your airways close up.
