Chiffon #109. Caged Dog

Hullo,

As you don’t know I will tell you. I am having my puppy dog staying with me in my apartments and it is so much fun. She is not a demanding dog but I think she has issues.

The other day we all decided (I decided not the dog) that we would go and have a look at Floriade (sounds like a stamina drink for florists). This involved a walk, something the dog likes a little bit more than me.

We left at eleven thirty and I stopped by the T.A.F.E. cafeteria to purchase one of those cheaper style student sandwiches and a small drink. The dog had already eaten. I left the dog with her handler which is not normally me. The dog has been reared by my very good friend Petal Head Love Rock (not her real name).

I went in and purchased two tomato cheese sangers and an ice coffee. Sixteen dollars. Thank you, and have a nice day, sucker! This was what I was feeling, to coin an American phrase, shoot! Those prices are definitely not meant for the underprivileged. Privilege being the thing students used to study (work) for. That comes from being qualified to do a job.

We continued, eventually emerging from an underpass into a water filled view of grassy areas and trees and people and cement. The dog went berserk. She was so happy that she ran around with a big smile on her face.

I sat myself down and started to investigate my five star student quality morsel of dough and a slice of cheese, two of the tomato. Did I mention butter? And there was no salt and pepper (they are doin it tough).

Now it was during this rather humble meal that I got my money back. The dog, bless her heart, not used to the concept of a lake went exploring. She emerged from some reeds soaking wet, having fallen in from assuming the edge of our lake is like the beach or a river and one can wet one’s paws at the edge. Not true. She worked it out and must have blamed us as she shook herself dry right in our faces and running her head over the grass which was kind of embarrassing.

She is a dog and she was enjoying herself immensely. I have included a photo. Unfortunately the dog was not allowed to visit Floriade so we looked around and came home……. broke!

Luff Chiffon xxx.
