Chiffon #32

Hullo,

I am here on what can only be described as a beautiful day, sitting at my mind writing and it occurs to me that not everywhere is she as beautiful as what is coming in my window. I am thinking of course pebbles on remote beaches and through the streets of third world poverty, ravaged settlements, throughout this country as well as this town, indeed, vast expanses of the planet, they do not have the sun shining, there is no silver lining in their clouds, they do not sleep! A friend of mine he once gave me this piece of advice in the form of a statement. He said and I quote ‘However, you get that!’

I am amazed that there even seems to exist a ‘pros and cons’, a ‘does it or does it not’ argument in relation to global warming and, in the light that there is, indeed, an argument or no argument, an inherent danger exists in letting the one party, the government, who have the biggest conflict of interest, lead any kind of repentant action.

I suppose it is obvious that it is only necessary to be seen talking about doing something, although I am assured any kind of irresponsible government would not last a full term in this country’s democratic process. There would be public outrage; in the case of our present government, we can only plead ignorance, an over-abundance of it but on three occasions??

One can understand disillusionment, frustration and any number of negative feelings. A responsible government would have a health system in place that would cater for the varying situations which could arise from within its own population from the flu to mental illness.

I know that during the cold war the Russians used the police to perform these tasks, but I am assured such a government would not last a full term with this country’s democratic process. There would be a public outrage. In the case of our present government I suppose you could say we did not know, an over-abundance of it, but on three occasions. REALLY!

And what is with the dining table. I thought such opulence and extravagance was a symptom of a dictator being drunk on wealth and power and you know that I am assured such a government would not last a full term with this country’s democratic process, there would be public laughter.
